CELEBRATING CULTURE, ARTS AND TRADITIONS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

About the International Cultural and Educational Development Fund (ICEDF)

The International Cultural and Educational Development Fund (ICEDF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting educational development in the arts, culture, and humanities. Our mission is to preserve and celebrate the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the Washington, DC metro area by empowering artists, cultural performers, and tradition-bearers from diverse backgrounds.

Through strategic partnerships with local organizations, including Chic Events DC, ICEDF curates and supports dynamic cultural festivals that feature traditional music and dance, ethnic food, and handcrafted arts. These events serve not only as vibrant celebrations, but as educational platforms that promote cultural understanding and heritage preservation across generations.

Our signature event, the Around The World Cultural Food Festival, brings together over 50 countries in one place through authentic cuisine, live performances, and cultural displays. Hosted annually in the heart of the DC metro area, this flagship festival serves as a cornerstone of our mission—offering artists and performers from all over the world a stage to share their traditions with the local community.

In addition to this flagship event, ICEDF proudly supports a variety of other cultural festivals produced in partnership with Chic Events DC, including seasonal celebrations that highlight global cultures and provide vital exposure and income to small businesses, artisans, dancers, musicians, and independent creators.

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the arts and humanities sector, and many creatives are still navigating the aftermath. Through our festivals and community-based programming, we continue to raise funds and create meaningful opportunities that help artists and small cultural businesses recover and thrive.

We invite you to attend one of our upcoming cultural festivals in the Washington, DC metro area. All events are free and open to the public. Please RSVP via the Facebook links below, share with friends and family, and join us in celebrating the beauty of global traditions—while directly supporting the local creative community.

In 2026 we hope to be able to promote and support several local ethnic dance groups. They will participate and be promoted in some of our partner’s festivals in the DMV area:
